The day after this day: Carpet Cleaning
Sad to say in my over 16 years of home ownership, I have only had the carpets cleaned once. In the first house I owned, the carpets were cleaned after I sold the house and moved out, in preparation for the new owners taking possession. The place I own now has not had the carpets cleaned since I moved in when construction was complete about 7 years ago. Starting tomorrow, that is changing.
I might claim the “how was I supposed to know?” excuse but truth be told I know carpet cleaning service is supposed to be performed about every 2 years. Why do I procrastinate so?
Sears Carpet Cleaning is arriving at my home at 8:00 am tomorrow and I’m well prepared. Most of my furniture is moved aside to non-carpeted areas so the job should be pretty easy. Best thing about this is that I’m using this event as motivation to take better care of my home. Generally I’m pretty good at keeping the house clean, but in the past few months I’ve let that chore rest. So here’s to motivation in 2009. Vacuuming every week, dusting, and keeping the furniture clean will do wonders. Right?
Great New Year’s Resolution, Marty. I always thought your house was immaculate, though, so now I guess it’s going to be downright sparkling! You will love having clean carpets; even your toes will rejoice.
